1972 - Canned Heat is one of the most underrated groups of all time. They are great. They were improperly labeled a group of 60s hippies, but they were much more than that.
Alan Christie Wilson is the greatest slide player. On September 3, 1970 Wilson was found dead on a hillside behind band mate Bob Hite's Topanga Canyon house, reported as a suicide. He was 27 years old.
In the Woodstock movie, during the song "A Change Is Gonna Come", you can see a man from the audience climbing on stage but instead of kicking him off singer Bob Hite shares a cigarette with him. Good Times!
