1970 - Creedence Clearwater Revival sixth studio album. Pendulum, marked their finale as a four-piece: Doug Clifford, John Fogerty, Stu Cook, Tom Fogerty. Two months after its December 1970 release, rhythm guitarist Tom Fogerty (John's brother) would quit the group for good.

Among the wonderful songs here are "Hey Tonight" and "Have You Ever Seen The Rain?". There's also some neglected gems like "It's Just a Thought" and "Molina".

BANQUETE DOS MENDIGOS

1973 - Recebi este box com 3 bolachinhas que acabaram de sair do forno. È o registro completo do show realizado em 10 de dezembro de 1973 na sede do Museu de Arte Moderna, no Rio de Janeiro (RJ). Lançado pela primeira vez em CD com todos os 44 números do show produzido pelo cantor e compositor carioca Jards Macalé com o poeta mineiro Xico Chaves.

O show já tinha sido lançado em LP duplo, impedido pela censura em 1974 de chegar às lojas e liberado para comercialização somente em 1979. Os cds foram remasterizados a partir dos tapes originais do show, guardados por Macalé há 42 anos.

COOK COUNTY JAIL

1970 - Jail, very simple, is one helluva place to be. In 1968, when the Illinois Crime Commission and a prison reform group, the John Howard Association, investigated Chicago's infamous Cook County Jail, they called it a "jungle".

"Any-and-everything went," says a former inmate, "anything from heroin to whiskey to italian food was sold and traded in the jail. Homosexual rape, bribery and murder were the bill of fare. And he added sourly, no one seemed to give a damn."

So it was rather ironic on September 10,1970, that B.B.King should be performing before 2.117 inmates, with minimum security, in the yard of Cook County Jail. You get to hear prisoners booing the warden...

B.B.KING COOK COUNTY JAIL, is a manifestation of human generosity and beauty on B.B.'s part, and the raw appreciation of 2.117 of his most ardent fans. Throughout the summer of 1970, Cook County Jail has produced several shows for its inmates.

After B.B.'s concert, 2.117 inmates gave him a standing ovation. In the typical B.B.King style, he simply said, "If you liked me today, can I come back again"?

The answer was unanimous.

"My name is John Francis Pastorius III ...

...and I'm the greatest bass player in the world."

1976 - Recorded in 1976 prior to joining Weather Report, Jaco's first solo record. This is the album that started the revolution and established Jaco as a true master of the instrument. Jaco was to the electric bass what Muhammed Ali was to boxing.

The opening track a cover of the Charlie Parker classic "Donna Lee"(written by Miles Davis) featuring Jaco only accompanied by a conga player. Other highlights of this album include "Portrait of Tracy", and "Continuum". My favorite Portrait of Tracy is a wonderful ballad played almost completely in harmonics.

1970 -  Released in June 1970 The first Deep Purple album with the Gillan, Glover, Lord, Paice and Blackmore Lineup. This Deep Purple album has always been a favorite of mine. It was my first Deep Purple acquisition, for me Child In Time is the best ever hard rock song. Led Zeppelin II and Black Sabbath's Paranoid for these 3 albums are the foundations of late 60's/early 70's British Hard Rock.
